Kos
Beginning in January 2021, Equal Rights opened an office on the Greek island of Kos that will provide legal aid to asylum seekers in the EU Hotspot Pyli.
Our work on Kos will focus on counseling in the first instance and second instance procedures, family reunification under the Dublin III Regulation, and litigation to address fundamental rights violations. We will also undertake cases for people who are detained in the pre-removal detention centre.
Over 1,000 asylum seekers currently live on Kos—our new office will address a major gap in legal services available to them on the island. To learn more about our work in the Greek Hotspots over the past four years see our Chios office page.
